The four price drivers
1. Format
Liquid extract is the cheapest format per litre because it skips the spray-dry energy cost. Spray-dry powder is 1.6–2.2x more expensive per kg-equivalent of fresh leaf input due to the additional process step and the carrier ingredient.
2. Active marker spec
Standard food-grade Pandan extract (no active marker spec) is the cheapest. Standardised Pandan extracts (e.g., specified for total polyphenols or specific aroma compound) command a 25–40% premium because batch QC adds HPLC time and rejected batches go to lower-spec inventory.
3. Certifications
JAKIM HALAL supplier-level adds nothing to per-unit cost (it’s a certification of the facility, not a per-batch cost). FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP same. Kosher Star-K adds a small per-batch supervision cost when those batches are produced.
4. MOQ tier
Our MOQ structure rewards larger orders:
