Ultimate Iced Pandan Matcha Latte Recipe Masterclass

Figure 1: Premium Home Barista Method — Recreate with Pure Pandan Matcha Powder.

Are you tired of spending your hard-earned money on daily specialty café runs that leave you feeling underwhelmed? Do you love the complex, grounded earthiness of a high-quality Japanese green tea, but find yourself craving that smooth, uniquely comforting, naturally sweet fragrance of real vanilla-like pandan leaves? If you nodded along, you are exactly one of us. We love the beautiful, visual ritual of a morning iced latte, but we completely refuse to settle for ordinary, overpriced beverages masked with synthetic syrups and cheap cane sugar fillers. It’s time to take 100% responsibility for your routine and unlock a non-negotiable standard of purity.

The Pure Secret: Zero Compromises, Authentic Craftsmanship

The secret to that flawless, multi-layered iced latte trending all over your social media feeds isn’t a complex chemical syrup pump recipe. It is the uncompromising harmony of two authentic botanical powerhouses: Vibrant Japanese Green Tea and Pristine Pandanus Leaves.

Until recently, replicating this high-end flavor profile at home meant boiling raw pandan leaves for hours or dumping artificial neon-green colorings into low-grade matcha powder. Standard flavored matchas on the mass market are severely padded with up to 70% added cane sugar or maltodextrin. They taste synthetic because they are synthetic.

That is exactly why we pushed our extraction capabilities to the absolute limit to produce the BioNutricia Pandan Matcha Powder (200g / 7oz). It is a precise, artisanal 50/50 blend of 100% pure plant extract. 0g Added Sugar. Zero Fillers. Zero Chemical Fragrances. It bridges the gap between pure ceremonial green tea and an elite, comforting dessert profile.

📋 The Barista-Grade Recipe: Iced Pandan Matcha Latte

Ingredients You’ll Need:

  • 1 teaspoon (approx. 2-3g) of BioNutricia Pandan Matcha Powder
  • 30ml Warm Water (around 80°C / 175°F — avoid boiling water to protect the delicate, raw antioxidants)
  • 150ml Creamy Choice of Milk (Oat milk or premium whole milk provides the ultimate velvety mouthfeel)
  • A generous handful of clean ice cubes
  • Optional: A light drizzle of raw honey or agave nectar (remember, our powder is 100% sugar-free, giving you total control!)

Step-by-Step Execution:

  1. Whisk to Activate: Place your Pandan Matcha Powder into a small bowl. Pour in the warm water and whisk vigorously in a rapid ‘W’ or ‘M’ shape. Watch a vivid, natural emerald-green froth effortlessly rise to the surface as the botanical properties activate.
  2. Prepare the Vessel: Fill your favorite tall glass completely to the brim with fresh, clean ice cubes.
  3. Build the Creamy Foundation: Gently pour your chilled milk directly over the ice cubes, leaving roughly one inch of breathing room at the top of the glass.
  4. The Magic Pour (The Visual Hook): Slowly and steadily stream your whisked Pandan Matcha froth directly over the ice center. Watch the deep emerald layer elegantly bleed downward into the pristine milk clouds, creating a stunning café-style aesthetic layer.
  5. Savor & Elevate: Capture your visual masterpiece for your feed, stir thoroughly to blend the nutty vanilla notes with the earthy tea, and experience liquid perfection.

No bamboo whisk? Three things that work

A chasen gives the best foam, but it is not the only way and you do not need to buy one to start.

  • Handheld milk frother — the closest result to a proper whisk, and faster. Use a narrow cup so the head stays submerged.
  • Jar with a tight lid — add powder and warm water, seal, shake hard for twenty seconds. No foam, but no clumps either.
  • Small metal whisk plus a sieve — sift first, then whisk. Sifting matters more than the tool.

Troubleshooting: four things that go wrong

It went clumpy

The powder was not sifted, or the water was added too fast. Sift through a tea strainer first, then add water in two stages — a splash to make a paste, then the rest.

It tastes bitter

Almost always water temperature. Boiling water pulls the harsh catechins out fast. Let the kettle sit two to three minutes before pouring. We covered the full list in how to make matcha without bitterness.

The layers mixed straight away

Not enough ice, or the pour was too fast. Fill the glass properly with ice and pour the matcha slowly over the back of a spoon. The ice is what holds the layer.

It tastes watery

Ice melt. Either use less water when whisking, or make the matcha stronger to compensate for the dilution you know is coming.

Four variations worth trying

Hot instead of iced

Same whisking method, then top with steamed or warmed milk instead of pouring over ice. The pandan aroma comes through noticeably stronger when hot.

With coconut water

Swap the milk for chilled coconut water. Lighter, no dairy, and the coconut sits naturally alongside the pandan.

Dirty, with espresso

Add a single shot on top. For people who are not ready to give up coffee but want something more interesting than a flat white.

Blended

Everything into a blender with the ice. Turns it into something closer to a frappe — useful in hot weather, though you lose the layered look.

Can you make it ahead?

Partly. Whisked matcha is best within a few minutes — it separates and dulls in flavour after that. What you can prepare in advance is the milk: chill it, and keep ice ready.

If you want something genuinely batchable, make a small jug of the matcha concentrate in the morning, keep it covered in the fridge, and shake before pouring. It will not foam on the second pour, but it will still taste right for a few hours.

Buying pandan matcha? Three things to check

Most powders sold as flavoured matcha are mostly sugar. These three checks separate the real thing from the rest.

1. The ingredient listIt should name two plants. If you see sugar, maltodextrin or “natural flavour” near the top, most of what you are buying is filler.
2. The colourVivid green means fresh. Dull olive means the matcha has oxidised or the pandan was badly dried — both taste flat and bitter.
3. How fine it isCoarse powder leaves grit at the bottom of the glass. A properly milled blend dissolves without a sandy finish.

Bionutricia Extract Pandan Matcha Powder is a 50/50 blend of Japanese matcha (Camellia sinensis) and pure Malaysian pandan (Pandanus amaryllifolius). Two ingredients, no added sugar, no maltodextrin and no colouring. One 200 g pack holds about 100 servings at 1 teaspoon each, and a teaspoon carries roughly 20–45 mg of caffeine — about a third of a cup of coffee. It is produced in Malaysia by Bionutricia Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., a JAKIM Halal, FSSC 22000, GMP and HACCP certified facility operating since 2006.
