Orange powder (Citrus sinensis) refers to sweet orange. Sweet oranges accounted for approximately 70% of citrus production, followed by tangerine and lemon or lime. Sweet orange trees originated in China thousands of years ago and are now grown in many areas around the world, including the United States, Mexico, and Spain. In 2019, 79 million tonnes of oranges were grown worldwide, with Brazil producing 22% of the total, followed by China and India.
Oranges, whose flavour may vary from sweet to sour, are commonly peeled and eaten fresh or squeezed for juice. The thick bitter rind is usually discarded as waste in households. The peel of orange contains oils and has a strong flavour similar to that of the orange pulp. Orange has tough shiny orange skin. Inside, the fruit is divided into “segments”, which have thin tough skins that hold together many little sections with juice inside. Oranges are an important food source in many parts of the world for several reasons. They are a commonly available source of vitamin C. The juice is a refreshing drink. They last longer than many other fruits when they are stored. They are easy to transport because each orange comes with its tough skin.

Direction of Use
Add 1/8 teaspoon to 6 tablespoons or 0.2% to 6% of total weight or as needed. Mix, top or blend in water, smoothies, beverages, ice cream, kuih-muih, cake, jam, jelly, pudding, snacks, biscuits, desserts, dressing & recipes. (Depends on personal preferences)
