Roselle Hibiscus extract is extracted using dry calyx and it has intense colour and flavour making it suitable to be stored and easy to dilute when comes to consumption. Besides, it can serve as a colorant in many cuisines including bakery because the colour is stable upon high heating temperature. This extract contains natural vitamins and minerals such as calcium and potassium that quench thirst and revitalise the body. The drink reportedly possesses anti-hypertensive, diuretic and mild laxative properties.
Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) is a shrub belonging to the Malvaceae family. In the Chinese community, it is commonly called Luo Shen Hua (洛神花). Due to its sourness, it is known as sour tea in some countries. In English-speaking countries, it is called Red Sorrel. The sorrel drink can be prepared by boiling dried calyces of the plant in water for 8-10 minutes, then adding sugar and usually served chilled.

Direction of Use
Use for baking or beverage wherever a recipe calls for a flavour, colour & nutrient. Begin with 1 tablespoon for each 4oz / 113g cup of ingredients and add more depending on the desired strength required. Alternatively, can add into ice cream, kuih-muih, jelly, cake, biscuit, jam, pudding, chocolate, bao/bun, bread, dessert, popcorn, grazing & filling. (Depends on personal preferences)
